Taxi Booking Software: Online Bookings with a Deposit

Most taxi bookings still happen by phone: the passenger calls, asks how much the trip costs, someone writes it on paper and you hope they show up. Taxi booking software moves all of that online: the passenger sees the price, books on their own, pays a deposit by card, and you assign the ride to a vehicle in one click.

What a taxi company needs from a booking system

An upfront price from the official tariff

On your company’s Wiiz booking page, the passenger enters where they are going (with address suggestions and “My location”), taps See prices and immediately gets the fare, distance, time and the route on a map. The estimate follows the taxi tariff (start fee + per-km rate, day and night tariff, luggage, public holidays), which you can adjust. For Larnaca and Paphos, the legal fixed airport fares apply automatically.

Passengers also pick a ride type — Taxi for up to 4, Taxi XL for 5, or a minivan for 6–8 — each with its own price, just like the big ride apps.

A card deposit — fewer no-shows

You set the deposit percentage (e.g. 20%). The passenger pays it by card through the secure JCC gateway when booking and pays the rest to the driver. Cancel in time and the deposit is refunded automatically; cancel at the last minute and the deposit is kept. Bookings become serious and empty trips fewer.

Phone bookings with an SMS payment link

When a customer calls, you enter the ride from the dashboard: from, to, time, name and mobile. The customer gets an SMS with a link to pay the deposit — and the ride is confirmed as soon as it is paid. No reading card numbers over the phone.

Fleet, drivers and the app

• Each vehicle with its driver and a login to the Wiiz app.
• Assign a ride in one click — the driver gets a notification instantly.
• Drivers see their rides and the map, call the passenger and mark rides completed.
• A daily rides board that flags rides without a vehicle.

Cost: €0.15 per booking

Wiiz for taxis has no monthly fee and no setup fee. You only pay €0.15 per booking, plus a 2.5% transaction fee on deposits paid by card through the Wiiz payment gateway. SMS (for example the payment link for phone bookings) is charged separately, from €0.06 per message. No bookings on a given day means you pay nothing.
